  • ELPT Summative Test Window Closing on March 13

The ELPT summative test window will close on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 5 p.m. Central Time. Please make sure that all students who are required to take the ELPT summative test complete the test by that date. Paper test materials—including paper, large print tests, and braille test booklets—must be returned at the end of the test window. Instructions for returning paper test materials were included with the shipment of the materials.

These instructions are also posted in the Resources section of the Louisiana portal. If you need additional return shipment labels or help with returning your paper or braille test materials, please contact the Louisiana ELPT Help Desk.

Please note that non-participation codes should be entered in TIDE by March 27, 2020 as well.

  • ELPT and Participation Reports are Open

ELPT summative tests and participation reports are now open. The ELPT summative test window ends on March 13, 2020

There are two significant changes in the 2019-2020 ELPT administration:

    • The K-1 Writing Supplement has been eliminated.
    • To order paper, large print, and braille materials for Summative tests, please contact the LA ELPT Help Desk. Whereas in previous years, users had to place orders in TIDE, Help Desk agents will be able to gather details and place orders on your behalf. Some orders may require state approval before they are processed, so please place your orders for materials as soon as possible.

Please review the ELPT Summative Test Administration Manual and ELPS and ELPT TA User Guide for guidance on administering ELPT tests. It is strongly recommended that all Test Administrators administer the ELPT Online Tools Training to their students prior to administering the summative test so the Test Administrators and students can become familiar with the technology prior to summative test administration.

Contact the Louisiana ELPT Help Desk if you encounter any issues administering ELPT tests.

  • Apple iPadOS 13 Supported for Online Testing

Apple iPadOS 13 is now supported for online testing. Please ensure devices are updated to the latest version before testing to avoid issues encountered that were fixed by Apple in iPadOS version 13.2.2+. Also, Apple recently introduced a new feature called Voice Control that must be disabled before testing. This feature is turned off by default. Guidance on how to disable this feature, if enabled, is available in the Configurations for iOS/iPad guide under Technical Resources for Technology Coordinators.

  • ELPT Paper and Braille Materials to Arrive in Districts by January 20, 2020

Initial orders consisting of paper, large print, and braille materials for the ELPT will arrive in districts by January 20, 2020. This delivery will include materials ordered through the Help Desk by November 22, 2019.

An additional order window will open January 22, 2020 where the Help Desk can intake orders that were not submitted by the November 22, 2019 cut-off date.

Please note that the ELPT no longer uses the K-1 Writing Supplement. The Writing domain will consist of all machine-scored items for Kindergarten and Grade 1. The updated Writing domain results will still provide you with the same data and information as in previous years.

If materials do not arrive by these dates, please contact the ELPT Help Desk.
