  • Orders for Braille Tests for the ELPT Summative Assessment

TIDE is now back online and the ELPT Summative Assessment window is February 4, 2019 through March 15. Orders for Braille tests for the ELPT Summative Assessment must be placed by November 7 to ensure delivery to districts prior to the start of the Summative test window. To place an order for paper or large print materials, please contact the Louisiana ELPT Help Desk. To place an order for Braille tests, log into TIDE, click on “Paper Ordering” under “Preparing for Testing” and then choose “Initial Orders.” Choose a school in your district and then click “Search.” An order window will open. Enter the quantity of materials you need and then click “Save.” One version of the Braille test is available: UEB Contracted.

The quantity of kindergarten and grade 1 paper writing tests your district receives will be automatically calculated based upon the number of students uploaded from the state file into TIDE for your district, so paper writing supplements are not available for direct order. Some orders may require state approval before they are processed, so please place your order for Braille tests as soon as possible.

An additional order window will open on January 17 for orders for Braille tests for any students who enrolled in your district after the November 7 cut-off for initial orders. Orders placed during the additional order window will be extracted and shipped daily. At that time you will also be able to order additional kindergarten and grade 1 paper writing supplements if needed.

  • 2018-19 Secure Browsers

The 2018-2019 Secure Browsers are now available on the Secure Browser page of the Louisiana ELPT Portal. An updated Secure Browser Installation Guide is also available. Users are able to administer the Online Tools Training and the ELPS using either the 2017-2018 Secure Browser or the new 2018-2019 Secure Browser until December 31, 2018. After December 31, 2018 users will be required to use the 2018-2019 Secure Browser. The Online Tools Training and ELPS will no longer be accessible using the 2017-2018 Secure Browser.

Updates to the iOS Secure Browser and the Chrome OS Secure Browser are also available. Most iPads and Chromebooks are set up to automatically install updates. If your iPad or Chromebook does not automatically install updates and you have one of these Secure Browser apps installed, you will need to download the updates to these Secure Browser apps. A link to download the apps for use on iPads and Chromebooks where they are not already installed is available on the Secure Browser page of the Louisiana ELPT Portal.

The 2018-2019 Linux Secure Browser is also now available.

  • TIDE Update and Mandatory Password Resets

Updates to improve TIDE functionality will be available on Monday, August 27. The TIDE User Guide has been updated to reflect these enhancements.

New features of TIDE will include:

    • Participation Reports: Now more accessible, with better search functionality
    • Improved Rosters:  Now allows users to define start and end dates, as well as the students and users associated with each roster

In addition, we will be introducing 2-factor authentication for TIDE and ORS in order to further enhance the security of student information. This means that users will need to respond to an email challenge the first time they log in from a new device. All users will need to reset their passwords and complete this challenge when they log into TIDE or ORS after Sunday, August 26.

Please contact the Louisiana ELPT Helpdesk if you have questions about TIDE 11 and its improved functionality.
