  • Lenovo Yoga N23 Chromebooks

AIR is working with Google to fix a bug happening in Lenovo Yoga N23 Chromebooks related to freezing when an ELPT Speaking test is administered on the Chromebook. Until the issue is fixed, please use a different platform for administering the ELPT Speaking test. This issue only affects Lenovo Yoga N23 Chromebooks. We have not encountered any issues with other brands of Chromebooks. Google expects the issue to be fixed with the release of Chrome OS 65 on March 13.

  • Update to ELPT Chrome OS Secure Browser

An update to the ELPT Chrome OS Secure Browser (version 3.1) will be posted in the Chrome web store for download next week. This update will over-ride the Chromebook’s settings for when a computer goes into sleep mode and prevent a Chromebook from powering down and “going to sleep” while the student is taking a test. The updated Secure Browser will only prevent the Chromebook from powering down while the student is logged into a test. At all other times the Chromebook’s settings will determine when the Chromebook power down. Installation of this update is voluntary. Students will be able to continue to test on Chromebooks where it has not been installed.
